WHAT TO EXPECT

Navigate life and overcome challenges in a comfortable, convenient environment. Since 1975, The Counseling Center at The Community House has provided professional counseling, healing and growth for the whole person. Nothing is more important to us than providing our community with compassion and support, especially in times of struggle.

We understand that there are often barriers to seeking the support of a counselor. Our goal is to remove as many of those barriers as possible so you can begin leading a happier, healthier life.

Where will my counseling sessions take place?
We offer private and confidential counseling offices, located inside The Community House.

What happens during the first appointment?
During your initial session, your counselor will speak with you in depth about what your goals are and what obstacles you’re facing. We use this appointment to begin to get to know you and gain a strong understanding of not only where you are, but where you want to be.

Who can I call if I have questions?
Feel free to call Alisa Messana, Interim Director of Social Impact, at (630) 323-7500 ext. 232, or call our Intake line at (630) 323-7500 ext. 239

How do I make an appointment?
Leave your name and number on our confidential intake line at (630) 323-7500 ext. 239. One of our licensed counselors will call you and ask you a few brief questions to determine what your needs are.

On this call, the counselor will also give you an overview of the process, explain our fee structure, and answer any questions you might have. Then, together, you will pick a convenient date and time for your first session.
