Executive Director

The Community House is currently accepting qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director. Reporting to an engaged and forward-thinking Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will assume overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, and supervision of all services, programs, facilities, and staff for The Community House (the Organization).  In addition, the Executive Director will give special attention to the vital areas of development, fundraising, and community relations.

Working with a talented staff and a large and active group of community volunteers, the Executive Director will oversee the continued growth of a wide array of human services and community-based educational, civic, and recreational programs.

Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree.  A Master’s degree would be desirable, preferably in Social Services, Administration, or a related field.

The successful candidate will likely have at least ten to fifteen years of work experience, including:

  • Leadership responsibility for multifunctional teams of more than 25 employees.
  • A measurable, successful track record in development and fundraising, incorporating both capital and individual giving campaign management.
  • Budget and control responsibility for organizations with multi-million-dollar asset, expenditure, and revenue levels.

After School Program Counselor- Willowbrook Location

The Willowbrook Corner Program of The Community House is looking to hire energetic, nurturing after school counselors to join our team.  In this position, you will strive to provide the participants with a fun environment that is positive, supervised and safe while providing participants the opportunity to practice and develop appropriate social skills, and learn to make responsible choices.  Will supervise participants daily, implement scheduled daily activities and assist with homework help.  Previous experience working with children is preferred.

After School Counselor – Hinsdale Location

Applications will be accepted for the following open positions beginning July 7th and will remain open until someone is hired.

Applications will not be considered or accepted after closing date.

The After School Counselor will work approximately 15-20 hours per week from   2:30PM-6:15PM

Start/End Dates:               August 22nd – June 6th
Wages:                             Dependent on Qualifications

The person selected for this position will be under the direct supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and will be responsible for providing an appropriately safe, caring and enriching environment for the children enrolled in the After-School program. The coordinator is responsible for conducting themselves in an appropriate manner, setting an example for children, parents and co- workers.

Receptionist/Customer Support

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Customer Support Representative for a part-time, year round position.  Must be able to work 10 to 15 hours per week including evening and weekend hours.  Scheduled hours will vary from week to week.

Qualifications: A high school degree and experience working in an environment requiring multitasking are required. Candidate must possess excellent customer service, general office practices and computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel). Class registration software experience is desired.

Under direct supervision, the Customer Service Representative is responsible for answering phones, data entry, registrations, cash handling, filing and other office duties as assigned. This position also offer support to management staff and program supervisors.

Salary: $10 per hour
