Executive Director

The Community House is currently accepting qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director. Reporting to an engaged and forward-thinking Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will assume overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, and supervision of all services, programs, facilities, and staff for The Community House (the Organization).  In addition, the Executive Director will give special attention to the vital areas of development, fundraising, and community relations.

Working with a talented staff and a large and active group of community volunteers, the Executive Director will oversee the continued growth of a wide array of human services and community-based educational, civic, and recreational programs.

Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree.  A Master’s degree would be desirable, preferably in Social Services, Administration, or a related field.

The successful candidate will likely have at least ten to fifteen years of work experience, including:

  • Leadership responsibility for multifunctional teams of more than 25 employees.
  • A measurable, successful track record in development and fundraising, incorporating both capital and individual giving campaign management.
  • Budget and control responsibility for organizations with multi-million-dollar asset, expenditure, and revenue levels.

Maintenance Support

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented person to assist us in our maintenance department.  This is a part-time, year round position.  Must be able to work 20 to 30 hours per week including evening and weekend hours.  Scheduled hours will vary from week to week.

Qualifications: A minimum high school degree and experience working in an environment requiring multitasking are required. Candidate must possess excellent communication skills, general knowledge of commercial facility cleaning and basic/moderate equipment  repair skills.

Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for general to heavy cleaning, room setup/strike, painting, minor electrical and plumbing repairs and other duties as assigned. This position also offers support to management staff and program supervisors.

Salary: $10-$12 per hour (based on qualifications)

After School Program Counselor- Willowbrook Location

Applications will be accepted for the following open positions beginning July 5th and will remain open until positions are filled

Start/End Dates:               August 17, 2017  – May 25, 2018
Wages:                             Dependent on Qualifications

The Afterschool Counselor is a vital member of a team of people with the goal of providing excellent care for school aged children (K-8th grade) during after school hours and school holidays. Under the guidance of the Senior Group Leader and Program Director, he/she will be responsible for direct supervision of children, implementation of planned daily activities, and maintenance of the program environment, equipment and supplies. He/she will make every effort to develop and foster a positive relationship with the children and their parents.

Hours are Monday-Thursday from 3-6:15 and on Friday’s from 3-5:15. On days that CCSD180 has no school, this position will be scheduled for long days (8:15-5:45), as shifts will vary based on the need. There are monthly meetings held one Friday evening a month, following regular program hours.

After School Counselor – Hinsdale Location

Applications will be accepted for the following open positions beginning July 7th and will remain open until someone is hired.

Applications will not be considered or accepted after closing date.

The After School Counselor will work approximately 15-20 hours per week from   2:30PM-6:15PM

Start/End Dates:               August 22nd – June 6th
Wages:                             Dependent on Qualifications

The person selected for this position will be under the direct supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and will be responsible for providing an appropriately safe, caring and enriching environment for the children enrolled in the After-School program. The coordinator is responsible for conducting themselves in an appropriate manner, setting an example for children, parents and co- workers.

Partners Program Social Worker and Staff Therapist

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of TCH Mental Health Services, the Partners Program Social Worker and Staff Therapist will be responsible for delivery of mental health and wellness services with a focus on youth, families and individuals across the communities served by The Community House (TCH).  This role includes a focus on the Partners Program services to the low-income community of Willowbrook Corner, in addition to providing direct counseling services, family and group education, needs assessments and referrals for clients of TCH Mental Health Services.

Based in Hinsdale and serving the surrounding area, The Community House is a multi-service organization which provides recreation and cultural activities, counseling and therapeutic services focused on mental health and autism support, education support, and volunteer opportunities.  The vision of TCH mental health services is to offer a range of direct counseling and therapy, as well as workshops, educational offerings and mindfulness resources to youth, families and seniors in southeastern DuPage County.

Director of TCH Mental Health Services

Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Director of TCH Mental Health Services will be responsible for mental health and wellness services with a focus on youth, families and individuals across the communities served by The Community House (TCH).  This role leads services including: the Counseling Center, Charlie’s Gift program for children and families impacted by Autism and related sensory disorders, Partners Program social work services at Willowbrook Corner, and new outreach programming focused on youth and parents’ mental wellness.

Receptionist/Customer Support

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Customer Support Representative for a part-time, year round position.  Must be able to work 10 to 15 hours per week including evening and weekend hours.  Scheduled hours will vary from week to week.

Qualifications: A high school degree and experience working in an environment requiring multitasking are required. Candidate must possess excellent customer service, general office practices and computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel). Class registration software experience is desired.

Under direct supervision, the Customer Service Representative is responsible for answering phones, data entry, registrations, cash handling, filing and other office duties as assigned. This position also offer support to management staff and program supervisors.

Salary: $10 per hour
