- Thursday, April 25th at The Community House (415 West Eighth Street, Hinsdale) at 9:00 a.m.
Have you ever asked your teen or tween the question “What in the world were you thinking?” and received the answer “I don’t know.” Your teen was probably being very truthful with you. Dr. Bradley, author of “Yes, Your Teen is Crazy,” will share groundbreaking research about the teenage brain and how teen behavior is impacted by the changes occurring during those years. Dr. Bradley’s presentation “Loving Your Teen Without Losing Your Mind” is presented by the District 181 SELAS (Social Emotional Learning for Academic Success) Committee, the District 181 Foundation and District 86. A recognized specialist in adolescent behavior and grief counseling, Dr. Bradley will offer information and strategies to transform your 21st century teen into a strong, confident, productive adult. In addition to earning three top literary awards, Dr. Bradley’s book, Yes, Your Teen Is Crazy! – Loving Your Kid Without Losing Your Mind, received awards from both Parents’ Choice and the National Parenting Center.
Dr. Bradley’s work is based on recent groundbreaking studies that show the adolescent brain goes through a period of explosive new growth and rewiring, and the result is their sometimes “crazy” behavior. Dr. Bradley uses this innovative information to help parents navigate the sometimes-stormy waters of adolescence and emerge with the family intact. His second book – Yes, Your Parents Are Crazy! – a handy guide for teens trying to raise their parents, and his third book, The Heart & Soul of the Next Generation: Extraordinary Stories of Ordinary Teens, containing stories from Dr. Bradley’s case files, have received The National Parenting Center’s Seal of Approval. More information on Dr. Bradley can be found at www.docmikebradley.com.
The program is sponsored by the Hinsdale Middle School and Hinsdale Central Parent-Teacher Organizations, Northern Trust, The Big Envelope, Burr Ridge Marriott, A Foot and Ankle Centre and The Counseling Center of The Community House.
