Summer Camp Counselors – Hinsdale and Willowbrook Locations

The Community House is now accepting applications for Summer Camp Counselors for our Hinsdale and Willowbrook locations.

Based in Hinsdale and serving the surrounding area, The Community House is a multi-service organization which provides recreation and cultural activities, counseling and therapeutic services focused on mental health and autism support, education support, and volunteer opportunities.  The vision of TCH is to build a caring and vibrant community for youth, families and seniors in southeastern DuPage County.

Executive Director

The Community House is currently accepting qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director. Reporting to an engaged and forward-thinking Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will assume overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, and supervision of all services, programs, facilities, and staff for The Community House (the Organization).  In addition, the Executive Director will give special attention to the vital areas of development, fundraising, and community relations.

Working with a talented staff and a large and active group of community volunteers, the Executive Director will oversee the continued growth of a wide array of human services and community-based educational, civic, and recreational programs.

Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree.  A Master’s degree would be desirable, preferably in Social Services, Administration, or a related field.

The successful candidate will likely have at least ten to fifteen years of work experience, including:

  • Leadership responsibility for multifunctional teams of more than 25 employees.
  • A measurable, successful track record in development and fundraising, incorporating both capital and individual giving campaign management.
  • Budget and control responsibility for organizations with multi-million-dollar asset, expenditure, and revenue levels.

Art Therapist – Charlie’s Gift Center

Reporting to the Arts Program Director and working closely with The staff of Charlies Gift, , the Art Therapist for the Creative Connections Program will be responsible for Co-developing and co-facilitating a mixed medium art therapy group for children and adolescents with special needs, including individuals on the Autism spectrum, Attention Deficit Disorder, anxiety disorders, and related conditions.  The focus of the Creative Connections program is to encourage the expression of emotions, improve communication and socialization skills, and improve behavior.

Willowbrook Corner Program Supervisor

Reporting to the Director of Director of Willowbrook Corner Programs, this position directly carries out After-School and Summer Learning Programs delivered by The Community House at Willowbrook Corner.  The successful candidate will have responsibility for the planning, organization, budgeting, implementation, and evaluation of youth education programs, in the Willowbrook Corner community and will supervise program staff in the performance of their responsibilities.
